Community Code of Conduct
This is a healing space. That means it has to be a safe one first. Everyone who walks through these doors, in person or online, deserves to feel welcome, respected, and free to show up as they are. This Code of Conduct exists to protect that promise. It applies to everyone who engages with Camouflage to Canvas in any form: classes, workshops, events, the website, social media, the podcast, and any other platform or gathering connected to this community.

HOW WE SHOW UP
Expected Behavior
Being part of the Camouflage to Canvas community means committing to the kind of environment where healing is actually possible.
That looks like this:
TOWARD OTHERS
Treat every person with dignity and respect, regardless of background, ability, or experience level
Honor the courage it takes for someone to be in a healing space, including yourself
Listen without judgment when others share
Use language that uplifts, not diminishes
Respect personal boundaries: physical, emotional, and creative
IN THE SPACE
Arrive with an open mind and a willingness to try
Respect the studio space, materials, and shared resources
Follow facilitator guidance and class structure
Keep your phone on silent during classes unless instructed otherwise
Communicate honestly and directly if something doesn't feel right
Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are not tolerated in any Camouflage to Canvas space — online or in person. There are no exceptions.
Harassment or intimidation of any kind — including verbal, written, physical, or online conduct that demeans, threatens, or creates a hostile environment
Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, military status, or any other characteristic
Sharing another participant's personal information, stories, or artwork outside the space without their explicit permission
Uninvited physical contact or violation of personal space
Dismissing or minimizing another person's experience, pain, or healing journey
Unsolicited advice, diagnoses, or "fix-it" language toward another participant — this is a space to hold, not to solve
Photographing or recording other participants without their consent
Reproducing or distributing class content, curriculum, artwork, or materials without written permission
Disrupting the class or session in a way that interferes with others' experience
Soliciting or promoting other businesses, services, or organizations without prior approval from Camouflage to Canvas
Arriving under the influence of alcohol or substances in a way that affects your participation or the safety of others
CONFIDENTIALITY & PRIVACY
What's Shared Here, Stays Here
Healing spaces only work when people feel safe enough to be real. That requires confidentiality from everyone in the room.
Do not share another participant's name, story, artwork, or personal disclosures outside of the class or session.
This includes social media, personal conversations, and any other form of sharing — even with good intentions.
Jeanette and any Camouflage to Canvas staff will also honor your privacy. Personal information shared during classes or in correspondence will not be disclosed to others unless required by law or necessary to address a safety concern.
ONLINE COMMUNITY STANDARDS
Digital Spaces & Social Media
The same warmth and respect expected in person applies in every digital space connected to Camouflage to Canvas. When engaging on social media, in online classes, or in community groups:
Be constructive and kind in comments and responses
Do not post content that is harmful, offensive, or discriminatory
Do not spam, solicit, or post promotional content without permission
Tag or credit Camouflage to Canvas when sharing content inspired by our classes or community
Report any online harassment or inappropriate conduct directly to us

ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting a Concern
If something happens that doesn't feel right — whether it involves another participant, a facilitator, or something you observed — please bring it to my attention. You will be heard, and you will not be penalized for speaking up.
Reports can be made by emailing [email protected] or by speaking directly with Jeanette or a staff member before, during, or after any event. All reports will be handled with discretion and care.
For urgent safety concerns during an in-person event, please notify a staff member immediately or contact emergency services at 911.
Consequences of Violations
Camouflage to Canvas takes violations of this Code seriously. Depending on the nature and severity of the behavior, consequences may include:
A private conversation and request to modify behavior
A formal warning
Removal from a class, event, or session without a refund
Suspension or permanent ban from Camouflage to Canvas programs, spaces, and online communities
Reporting to appropriate authorities when behavior involves illegal activity or threatens safety
Camouflage to Canvas reserves the right to refuse service or remove any individual from the community at its sole discretion when the safety and wellbeing of others is at stake.
Changes to This Code
This Code of Conduct may be updated from time to time as our community grows and evolves. When changes are made, the updated version will be posted to this page with a new effective date. Continued participation in any Camouflage to Canvas space constitutes acceptance of the current Code of Conduct.
"Healing is brave work. The people who come through these doors are brave people.
My job , my promise, is to make sure this space is worthy of that bravery. That's what this Code is about."
